I’ve been pretty bummed about my inability to be as active as I’d like since I strained my IT band 3 weeks ago. I’ve been trying to take it easy, but it seems that even moderate exercise brings back the pain. I had been planning on running a 5k this weekend for the Annual AIDS Philly Run/Walk, but I just don’t think I can do it.  I went out for an easy 1.5 mile run today, and even that had me in pain by the end.

I just started yoga today to help loosen up my always tight hamstrings and quads, in addition to maybe helping out with this IT band thing. Between that and continuing to take it easy for the next 2 weeks, I’ll hopefully be able to run in the 24th Annual Citizen Advocacy 10k run.  In the meanwhile, I’ll continue to dragonboat and train areas that won’t strain my IT band (core/upper body).
